Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) allows users to purchase just the power they need and scale up to protect from 50 to 300 servers as their infrastructure grows. The new family includes six scaleable models in power ratings from 100 to 225 kVA. With a modular design, paralleling power modules for capacity or redundancy is quickly accomplished, eliminating the need for extra paralleling equipment. In addition, the units have small footprints; the 225-kVA model requires only 11 ft of space. For generator operation, the unit has a low kVAR input filter that limits reactive current fed to the generator.
